Jim Erickson and His ’57 Black Widow Resto-Mod Most Tri-Five Chevy enthusiasts are familiar with 1957 Chevy Black Widow race cars. For those who are unaware of these cars, here is some history. They are black and white 1957 2 door utility sedans that do not have a back seat or roll-down rear windows. Rumor has it that in early 1957, Chevrolet sent ten to twelve 1957 Chevy 150 2 door utility sedans equipped with the new 283 CID/283 HP F.I. engine and HD three-speed manual transmission to Southern Engineering Development Corporation Operation (SEDCO) to be modified for Nascar racing.
