1965 Corvair

How do you rebuild a memory?  How do you do it fifty years later? January 15, 1968 in Fargo, North Dakota.   It was -15F.  I was due to fly to Viet Nam the second time the next morning.  My high school friend Jon Houtkooper and I were taking one last drive around the city.  We drove by the used car lot of Muscatell Chevrolet late in the afternoon.  I noticed a light blue 1965 Corvair convertible on the lot. “Let’s just go in,” I told Jon.  “I want to have a look at that convertible.”  So we drove in and
