A Dream Fulfilled
Sometimes it takes some serious motivation to get a car done!

There I was in March, 1981– a 17-year old Senior searching for a classic car. One day there was an ad in the paper for a 1956 Chevy. I called my buddy and off we went after school. I’ll never forget it! The cover was pulled back and there she was: a Nassau Blue 1956 150 2-door, 6 cylinder, 3-speed with wide whites– I had to have this car. We negotiated a $2200 deal and the car was mine!
I still remember that beautiful spring morning heading off to school in my new ride. A Pioneer Supertuner under-dash stereo, 4 speakers…rock ’n’ roll! Eventually, I was given the nickname “Toad” from my favorite movie American Graffiti– so it was “Toad’s 56”. Plenty of memories in that car; I always said I could write a book.
