My name is David Gilliam. I am writing this story about my dad’s, Bob Gilliam, 1955 Chevy Bel Air. After my dad showed his red 1957 hardtop for several years, he wanted something over the top. He wanted a car he could take to most shows and turn heads. We found the 1955 in Alabama. It was in hundreds of pieces. The former owner had started to restore it, but fell ill. This did not matter to us, since we were going to take it apart anyway.
