Walt Bailey’s Unrestored Corvette It seems to have been only a few years ago when I spied a brand new, red Corvette convertible just after the new Chevrolet models were released in the fall of 1963. The ‘63 Corvette was so different from the previous generation that it was a standout. For years after that first sighting, the second generation Corvettes were always a head turner and a dream car for me. In the late ‘60s, my high school parking lot looked like one of today’s car shows or cruise-ins, with everything from tri-five Chevys to a range of muscle
