Building An Early Chevrolet Truck

The 1947-’53 Chevy pickup was the best-selling truck of its era, surpassing every other manufacturer during its time. Today enthusiasts from all over the world still seek out this pickup to restore or build as a street rod using modern components. One of the most challenging aspects of building a truck from this era is finding a decent body to start with. In the ’40’s and ’50s, trucks were used and abused by farm hands in ways many truck owners wouldn’t even think about today. As such, finding a body that is salvageable can be quite a daunting task.
