Do It Yourself Restoration

This story starts in the year of 1994 and we were living in Tyler, Texas. My friend, Ted Smith, found this car parked behind a garage in Dallas. The top was down and it was full of beer cans. He took the car to his house in Tyler, Texas were it sat until I talked him into selling it to me.

I took the car to Coggon, Iowa where I spent the next 13 years doing a complete frame-off restoration. Every nut and bolt was taken off and re-plated or repainted to factory specs. I did 95% of the work myself. The only things I did not do were put on the convertible top or rebuild the bottom of the 327/300hp block. I spent many hours looking for NOS parts and making sure the date codes were correct for the car.
