Eckler’s Chevy Classics Project C5 Upgrade: Corvette Throttle Bypass Tube Install
We are going to be working on the cooling system for this install. GM designed this plumbing system to help relieve steam pressure from the top of the engine by tying together the cylinder head coolant passages. Tying the same system into the throttle body, GM also needed to bring warmer steam to the throttle body to help with cold weather starting issues. This throttle bypass tube installation allows hot water (steam) to by-pass the throttle body, thereby yielding cooler inlet air.
