To be more specific, in the late ’70s, I cruised around in a big block 1956 Bel Air with a four-speed—that’s what I mean by a “real” car. Unfortunately, this car was stolen, which left me heartbroken and penniless. In disgust, I focused on my education in engineering, which earned me a bachelor’s degree and later a job in aerospace.
