Back in 1953, 65 years ago, pickup trucks were not cool.  Just not at all. They were bought at the lowest possible price, with the smallest engines.  There were no “luxury” appointments in the interior, no air conditioning, no fancy upholstery, no soft suspensions or sound systems.  They were painted, but not in anything special.
