Loaded 1959 El Camino The 1959 Chevrolet passenger car design that emerged from GM Design and Chevrolet Engineering generated some controversy when new. Most people liked it at the time, though some hated it. Today, there seems to be no attitude of indifference to the radical look of the car. Styling for the passenger cars was carried over to the new El Camino, a car-like pickup based upon the two-door sedan station wagon.
