My Ground Shaker

This hot ’66 SS 396 fills the bill nicely for owners Jim and Shirley Johnston.

My automobile impression years were the ’60s. During my early driving years, I admired the muscle cars of that era. I especially liked the 1966 & 1967 Chevelles. They were the ones with the big trunks; great for storing friends while sneaking into the drive-in movies!

When the kids in our family were grown and we became “empty nesters,” I started looking for a ’66 or ’67 Chevelle that needed restoring. I had two goals: it had to look good and it had to “shake the ground”!
