New Year, New Bel Air

A Close Look at a 1956 Bel Air Sport Sedan General Motors’ Chevrolet Division had an outstanding model year in 1955. Their all-new Passenger car line, which also included an all-new modern V8, sold amazingly, and the mildly restyled 1956 rendition of the design sold very well, too. For 1955, Chevrolet advertising referred to their cars as “The Hot Ones” and for 1956, the “Hot Ones Are Even Hotter” was the sales slogan. The Ferrari-inspired grille of 1955 was replaced by full-width, lattice-pattern grille for 1956. Also different were restyled headlight hoods, rectangular parking lamps, new bumpers and bumper guards,
