Eckler’s Takes a Close Look at this ’71 Cheyenne Vintage trucks aren’t like modern pickups. There was a different standard of luxury and purpose for a truck back in the day. With that in mind, we road-tested a completely restored 1971 Chevy Cheyenne Sport ½-ton pickup from GM’s Heritage Collection to give you a “new car review” of the truck and its operation. 1971 is a big year for Chevrolet pickups with the introduction of front disc brakes for the first time in history. This upgrade will make Chevy trucks dramatically safer and more pleasant to drive than ever before.
